Ugandans safe as love scandals are exposed

By Abu-baker Mulumba
WEEKLY OBSERVER

Ugandans in the Tusker Project Fame will jubilate as Naava Asha Zziwa, 25, survived evictions and no one from Uganda was put on probation this week.

Now Uganda has the biggest number of contestants in the house (five) with Tanzania and Kenya having four each.
The teachers saved Naava because they saw potential in her.

Those to face the eviction this week are Kenyans Alice Waweru (contestant no. 1), Wendy Kimani (14) and Tanzanians Linah Blanche (9) and Asha Ramadhani Mashauri (2). Asha, who wept after her nomination, later withdrew from the academy on doctors’ recommendation, after suffering an overwhelming sense of nervousness. The Tanzanian had to be rushed to hospital from where she announced her decision to quit.
The nominations were chaotic this time with MC Gaetano Kagwa and the Idols’ Simon Cowell wannabe Ian Mbugua arguing about the judges’ choice of nominees, until Ian snapped at Gaetano, “…so shut up you twit and stand there looking confused as usual!”
This prompted the audience to chant “Let Ian Go! Let Ian Go!”

Even the teachers disagreed with the judges’ choice of nominees and asked them to remember it is a competition and make technical choices. The judges argued they had put some good performers on probation to prompt them to work harder in case they survive.

Meanwhile a tough talking Principal Achieng Abura had one stern warning to flirts; they risk being put on probation for possible elimination.

There was no Ugandan involved in the saga where four contestants were caught using their note books for writing love messages and saucy compliments, contrary to the academy rules.

The principal walked into the academy and demanded that the students specifically Wendy, Hemed Seif Suleiman, Magdalyne and David Ogola show the contents of the notebooks they were carrying.

‘I like your nose’, ‘you are beautiful’, ‘such a rare African beauty’, were some of the messages the Tanzanian Hemed had written to Wendy.

Watch the highlights every weekday at 8:30 p.m. and actions on Saturday from 8p.m.-9p.m. and Sunday 9:30 -10:30 p.m.
To save a contestant on probabtion, SMS only the contestant’s number to 0901009263 (utl), 0902009263 (MTN) and 0903009263 (Celtel) for Shs 300.
