The Europe-Uganda film festival concluded last week at
the National Theatre with artist Xenson Ssenkaaba emerging
overall winner of the competition. He took home a 3ccd AG-DVX100B
Panasonic video camera.
His one minute clip “Talking Pictures”, showcasing
the inter-cultural relationship between Uganda and the West
swayed the judges and the crowd.
“He really deserved to win, his film was simply great,”
said script writer Kimanje Ian Collins, whose film, “Shomilu”
came 4th in the competition. The competition attracted 30
entries from all over the country out of which 8 finalists
were chosen.
The event organised by the European commission screened
Ugandan-produced and European films and documentaries from
Saturday to Sunday.
